Last November a new Crowdsourcing project was born, called Giffgaff, which boldly announced that it would become the Wikipedia of mobile phone networks. A brand new mobile phone operator – but with a twist. One that would Crowdsource both its customers and customer support.

Leading UK mobile company, O2 has just launched Giffgaff – the worlds first crowdsourced, SIM only, mobile phone operator (MVNO). Customer service, marketing and adverstising is all delivered by the crowd (volunteer consumers) allowing them to reduce costs and offer cheaper mobile services. It’s the future!
