I love the white one… clean and slick, just like the lovely Rabia!!

Keep up the good work guys.

  • Liam Tillyer

I think if i didn't know the band name it may take a short while to read it properly unless i'm just stupid. The 'i' looks like an exclamation mark, as i'm sure its mean't too but i'm not sure it looks overly cool to be honest. It's quite understated, not sure if that's a good thing or not though.

  • Cvetan Kamenov

    Hi there,

I like the mystery behind it. I would like to see it with the holes in the a's and b – and whether that makes a bigger impact?

    Thanks
    Cvetan

    Hi there,
Rabia asked me to be as honest as possible, so I hope that's cool.

I like the idea of the glow around the text. It gives a soulful quality, which fits with the music – but there are far too many ideas in one logo here, which distracts from the artist herself. There doesn't seem much point flipping letters. I'd understand that for a kooky band who are all about being… well, kooky, but that isn't Rabia.
I think she needs something that reflects her songs and her voice. Once again though, I like the glow, especially around the hard edges. It reminds me of those classy signs with lights behind the letters.
    All the best.

    Me again!
One sugestion that just came to me is to make the most of the R in 'Rabia'.
As a singer, she's a strong character, but with a sexy edge to her. I think that could be shown if the tail of the “R” was to continue and create a kind of curved/curled underline to the “abia” part.
I'm sure there are loads of other things possible, but just wanted to put this idea out there.

if this logo where for a teenager's blog i would approve of it, i think it is very youthfull and eye catching in that respect.

With it being a reference to Rabia, the artist/vocalist, who has and elegant, sexy and exotic appearance and sound, i think the logo shoud reflect these qualities. a mature and sleek image that oozes class…in my opinion.

i think the logo should be a treat for the eyes maybe, something pretty, as oppose to just stating the name in bold

  • Name

If I am seeing this correctly, there are two different logos and you want feedback on both. I like the black logo more than the white because it has the more distinguishing features in the logo. However, both of the logos say Black and White and there definitely is not that in your voice's timbre. There are many shades of color that define your range and your depth – the shades of gray do not do justice. I think of more earth tones when I hear your range!

  • http://rfcradio.com/ Paulie

Hi Rabia, this is Paulie, your future sax player! :-) I like the concept, but I think it needs just a little tweaking. I love he upside down “i” which makes an exclamation point. The block letters are cool too, but if you are going to have a capital B in the middle I think you should also have a capital R starting her name off. R is almost the same as B, just take a little chunk out of the bottom of the R, it would be more consistent (IMHO). If you do that, you won't need to include holes in the letters.

  • Meaner Music

It didnt grab me at all – I found it very executive, plain and not attention grabbing – I think Rabias brand would be more artistic and flowing like her, I see Rabia with even a cartoon character Jessica rabbit as an influence or The princess in Disney Alladin ……. something with more movement and less corporal..

  • Carol Mae Whittick

    Hi,

I am confused by this logo. It is nice but I do not think it is right.
If it is to be used for Rabia I do not get the impression that she has been understood by the designer/s.
I feel that she deserves a capital R. The mixed fonts do not work in this instance. The whole thing feels heavy and with the exclamation mark feels aggressive! (see what I mean?)
I wonder if this would be transferable eg a backdrop/banner on stage, logo on a tshirt or even a perfume bottle?
Rabia to me is strong, feminine, has soul and boundless ambition and I see none of these things reflected here. I imagine her fanbase will be wide ranging in age this could exclude/confuse some.
Could you find out more about her influences and show some reflection of that? A modern classic that can carry on with her throughout all her ventures.
The glow is nice. My thoughts are that that effect should be an alternative version of the actual logo.

  • Philippa

I would need to hear your music to have a strong opion.. but I do know you a little and my feeling is that it isn't really you.. It's a little fade out and also indistinct. These are not words I would use to describe you..

  • jev

I like the idea but… on my computer screen it's a touch dark… BUT SO ARE MANY PEOPLES…. and on that the top half of the logo looks just flat black. lightening it a bit in photoshop and its better.. the white around the letters needs to be stronger…

  • davethebass

Rabia, You are big and soft and sexy. This looks like a 1980s hairdresser shopfront. There's no art. Its as it someone went to the “standard font” box and airbrushed over a template. It doesn't describe you at all.

Now:- put a tail on it an make it into a lioness, twist it, or make it out of pictures of you (even in the same font) NOW you have a message!

  • Federico

It looks like a shop title, it not very special…

  • katie_cameron

    Hey,

I like the light and dark concepts, and the shadowing on the letters, but I think the text is the wrong typeface. To me it looks a bit childish (especially the r) and bubblyish – to have more impact you may want capitals so that it looks bolder, and for a typeface that is more striking /individual /memorable i.e. that is more like YOU and the image you project. Also, i hate to point this out, but someone who doesn't quite get it might read it as 'rabid' which is probably not something you want……

    Hope this helps xx

  • alexmaple

I like both designs but on balance I prefer the white on white look. I think it catches and then holds the attention in a way the black logo doesn't quite manage.

It takes a very brief moment for my eyes to adjust to and understand 'rabia' is what it says, which is good because I reckon that means I'll remember it for longer.

Also the darker look is easier to miss in my opinion and also looks less original. White is also a very underated solid colour.

I'm not sure I like the exclaimation mark. I don't think it particularly adds to the design and some may view it as being tacky. I think the rest of the design is good enough without the addition of it. A straight i would look fine I think.

    Apart from that, very good!

  • Ganan

lovin the new logos – def works with your style of music – would like to see it in a few more vibrant colours to really bring it to life. Branding is certainly a step in the right direction

  • Rachel

Ohhh I love it. It reminds me of Joss Stone with out color. Completely pure. Perfect.

  • Rachel

I like it. There is not too much going on with the logo like that other person wrote…but I am not an expert. I am a huge fan of Black and White so of course…I love it!

  • Rohan

very nice i like it. its got a lot of style but not over the top. i like the upside down i too.

I do agree with the comment below that it might look better with holed out a's and b's
maybe not completely holed out but crescent moons or something.

i like the black one a lot.

    good luck with it

  • Gogo Roberts

    Hey guys,

I think there's a public outcry for holes or somekind of shape in the a's and b's and i share the same sentiment, get some shapes in there!

The white logo is fantastic, as it has a minimalist design which steps out from the white background and with this, you can transfer this onto any coloured background with ease depending on the event, mood, image… etc.

The black one looks more like the back of a business card

    Enjoy!

  • Meaner music

This logo is too corporate for Rabia, She has alot more character and if the font is to reflect her style it needs to bend and curl ……. I also thought A cartoon character based on Jessica rabbit is a good idea …….. I didnt think the logo stood out in either colour its all very square and understated , the i upside is trying to be quirky and i find it looks forced and not natural like Rabia herself is ……

  • Noelia

So Rabia asked for me to provide my feedback on the logo, and to be completely honest I think it's somewhat plain, and there's nothing plain about her! I understand the colour scheme used–black and white–to evoke classic/classy but I don't like the boldness, it seems too square.

    best of luck!

  • Jennifer

i'm stuck on that style per se. I see you with even more character and femininity that what that “brand” portrays. I'd like to see something with more style and character to bring out Rabia. It's nice but I don't think it fits her completely.

  • Meaner music

I have a rough picture of rabia as cartoon similar to jessica rabbit leaning against the R In rabia or sitting on the b .. Really nice italic writing.

  • kam

I like the fact that it's branded after Rabia but I'm not sure that it does justice to her style and the genre of music she sings. She and the band need something that's unique – I don't think that this logo sets her apart enough (honest opinion! :P ).

  • DJ

I really like the shadow effect on the letters and the overall presentation. I also like the fact that the there isn't any shapes in the 'a' & 'b', it puts more focus on the shadowing and the overall name rather than putting it on specific letters. Although the 'r', to me, is standing out for some reason, maybe a Uppercase 'r' could work although that would throw off the pattern of the uppercase 'b' surrounded by the lowercase letters. The upside down 'i' is perfect and throws that eye catcher that you need. To me it does exactly what a logo should do. Logo's are meant to be recognizable by the image not necessarily by reading it. Think of big logos like McDonald's arches, Apple's apple, & Microsoft's windows image. You know who they are when you see it. To me this does Rabia well.

  • iwan_evans

It looks quite cool, however as my compatriot Mr Gogo Roberts said it looks like a business card.

I think the logos quite generic and isn’t that original.

Seeing that on the front of an Album cover wouldn’t make me pick it up.

Rabia has a very distinctive voice and needs something which looks a bit jazzier and original

  • Azana Lewis

‘I like it…I think this looks really cool!
I do have an idea, not sure how it would look but how about making the i into a microphone/or resemble a microphone?
Just a suggestion…let me know what you guys think!
    Thanks Azana’

  • Paul Salinas

Hey girl….I hope all is well. I am glad to see things moving along. In regards to the logo I would only suggest that the “all black” logo is a bit too dark. Dark in a sense that it reminds me of the “Metallica Black album” and heavy metal you are not. J Just my 2 cents for what it is worth.
I do like the font, but you should ask them if they could at some more life to it.
    Take care,
    Paul’

  • Haris Spahic

‘I think she should have “i” in rabia not upside down and instead of using gray/whit colour she should use yellow/gold and maybe even some brown instead of black. This is because these colours are more kind of colours of soulJ and it would be so nice for her skin as she is goldish’

  • Helena Davies

    ‘Positive:
I love the simplicity of it.
    Negative:
Saxon thinks it’s very street and too gangster like. “why is the i upside down”
I think it’s not clear enough, it’s isn’t shouting out what it says, you have to concentrate too hard to read the name. I think if it was more obvious/clearer what the word says then it would be great.

  • Matt Clementson

The white one is more versatile i would think, i would lose the ! and possibly put little dots in the a’s!
    What do i know though

  • Bernard LAllier

    Bernard LAllier
    ‘Hi hi.

The initial caveat is that I know nothing about logos from a proper corporate branding perspective and so have no idea the thinking that went into this.

From a consumer perspective, though, my gut feeling (as I said to Rod while you were on the phone) is that it’s just not quite eye-catching enough for a professionally produced image.

If you were getting this for free and someone was knocking that together as a favour, it would be a solid effort. When you’re getting it done properly, though, it just feels like you can get it done properly.

What that looks like, I’m not sure, but my gut feeling is that it doesn’t look like this.

    Hope that helps!

    Cheers,

    Bernard’

  • Kiran Ghattaura

    ‘Hey you,
Ok, I think it’s not bad but it could t be better. Let me have a think about it tonight properly…’

  • Rod Gordon

Umm… I really want to see a logo that Shouts at you, shouting the things that define you… Sexy, Classy, WOW, Sophistication…

Given that this is a personal brand, I don't think it needs to be, or can be too complex but it does need to stand out, and do so with class… I had a look at other singers logos, and most are simple text… but all looked very Polishes and precise.

I know that this is really just a 1st draft, but I think it needs to be a lot more wow and stronger… I'm sure that the finished article will be brought out of the page a lot more, but I think we need to go back and hit the 'Sexy, Classy, WOW, Sophistication' then bring the logo on to that polished state.

  • Mo Das

If its not too late, the letters are too fat so a different font would be better in my humble opinion!

  • clarissagent

    Hi,

Rabia has requested some feedback on the branding so here it is. I like the branding and font – it's very dramatic but I wonder whether you need both the black and the white. Does it confuse it? I think I see that you are trying to show two sides to Rabia but I am a big fan of keeping it simple. I would just choose either the black or the white. Hope the feedback helps

  • Adam Baker

I think the white ones pretty cool, not as keen on the black one. The logos good though.
    Batup – ur a gay!

  • al65

I think it lacks a bit of meat i dont think if you saw this on a bill board that it would stand out and make you think Who is Rabia?

Also not a huge fan of the mix of Upper and lower case, having said that i do like the glow very effective and simple.

  • Lucy Miller

I’m not a fan of the ‘r’, but I like the rest of it… maybe a capital ‘R’? Hope you get it exactly how you want it!

    Lucy xxxxx

  • Adrian Askew

    Ok…

I like the black one more than the white one. I think the ‘R’ droops a little and looks a bit funny.

Love the white shadowing behind the text, and the font in general.

I know it’s trying to be quirky but when I see that exclamation mark, I think of things like 5ive or Hear ‘Say – might appeal but to me seems a bit gimmicky.

Sorry Rab Dog I know it’s mixed messages but I suppose the final statement I will give is…

I like it but it could be better. How better I’m not sure – that is what those design boffins are there for I suppose.

    See you soon x

    Aidy

  • Melanie Tse

black one definately – to go with the sultry sexy voice! white is more squeaky clean pop band.

not sure about the upside down “i” its a bit overdone…used to look good because it was a different spin on things but now its just a bit samey. keep it classic and simple. also, totally agree with the font comments. it doesnt suit your personality. need something feminine, jazzy and a bit more quirky. take the quirk out the 'i' and put it into the font.

its a good start but at first glance i think – “RnB singer. and well youre not!

  • sylviap

I am agree some with Julian, I still think a little teeny boppie. I was trying to figure out why I perceived this. Well, I think maybe the playfulness of the letters and also the inflated letters, kinda bubbly. I also think some how, kinda robotic logo looking, My original thoughts- I still think there should be a jazzy or soulful flow.
Just my thoughts, I think this logo is clean and very strong, I am just not connecting it to her image.. Just my perception…I my be way off, and the singer might be the bubbly type who loves this direction.
