From corporate tweets to music industry innovations…it’s blur Group’s weekly blogging recap

25/3/2011 | blur Group, Featured | Paul | No Comments

Weekly RecapHello, good morning and welcome to another Friday blur Group blog digest.

If you’re new to this weekly Friday feature, this is where we take a look back at some of the best posts from across blur Group’s network of blogs. If you’re a regular visitor, you know the drill already and our recap starts….now!

Mondays get a bad rap, but when we’re dishing out delectable dishes such as how to write the perfect corporate tweet, you can’t fail to warm to the week’s inaugural day just a little bit.

Throw into the mix a sideways snapshot of current music industry innovations and you realise Mondays really aren’t all that bad…are they?

That said, there’s little question that Tuesdays are a little more palatable than Mondays, partly because they’re one day closer to the weekend. But largely because creatives can gain access to gems such as six ways to improve your creative portfolio, and businesses can learn about the 3 must-have attributes of a digital business.

The icing on Tuesday’s cake was our take on the future of music, and why artists have a part to play in ensuring record sales flourish. How? By writing good music.

Wednesday was a VERY busy day here at blur Group HQ, but there was an air of light-heartedness too. Maybe it was the cracking weather that hit London this week?

Anyway, the imminent release of Apple’s second iPad model inspired us to look at some of the cool iPad accessory designs currently doing the rounds, and Twitter’s fifth birthday made us consider why we’ve not really seen much in the way of any serious competition for the microblogging platform.

Our music focus over at Innovatrs continued too, with digital partnerships getting a look-in, whilst b-uncut  took a look at how the Royal Wedding is inspiring all kinds of unusual art.

It was budget week in the UK, and the world’s largest advertising agency announced that it would probably move its tax HQ back to London. If only smaller creative agencies could afford the luxuries of shimmying between countries on a whim to save money. But they can compete on a more even keel thanks to the Creative Services Exchange, as we pointed out on Thursday.

But regardless of the size of your company, you really should be looking at how to make Facebook a key part of your company’s brand.

We all hope you enjoyed this weekly recap. And remember, if you’d like to be notified whenever a new blog posts goes live, simply follow us on Twitter: @blurgroup.
