Crowdsourcing China

14/12/2010 | blur Group | Paul | No Comments

Crowdsourcing is becoming big business across the globe and China is no exception….

The Worlds newest emerging superpower had a population of 1,331,460,000 at the last count. That’s a lot of people! So it should come as no surprise that Crowdsourcing in China has the potential to reach epic proportions. It may though come as somewhat of a shock that Chinese Crowdsourcing website zhubajie.com, virtually unheard of outside of China, is growing at such an astronomical rate that it can easily be considered the biggest single employer in the World. The site, which deals with a wide range of digital themes like; mobile apps, software design, brand design, web development and internet marketing is growing…. and fast.

Rough figures put the top 5 employers in the World as:

  1. Peoples Liberation Army, China, 3,400,000 workers
  2. Wal-Mart Stores, United States, 1,850,000 workers
  3. Indian State Railways, India, 1,550,000 workers
  4. National Health Service, UK, 1,216,000 workers
  5. Deutsche Post, Germany, 435,000 workers

However, Zhubajie is currently boasting over 4,282,400 workers, with a mind boggling average of 5300 people a day signing up. That’s projected figures of 1,934,500 new people signing up a year! These numbers are significantly higher than the rest of the list and will keep growing at a rate far higher than the competition. Over 4 million Chinese Crowdies is an awful lot but, to put it in context, Zhubajie estimates that there are around 50 million employees working on similar Crowdsourcing sites throughout China.

There is no doubt that the potential reach of Crowdsourcing is limitless and the enthusiasm of China in adopting its practices for business show how important it will be in shaping the successful businesses of the future.

Crowdsourcing is the hottest new trend in China and beyond. Fact.
