Here’s the best of the week from blur Group – put your feet up, draw the laptop closer and enjoy our read:

The end of online? Wiped out by social media? This post looks at how marketing has become a bit obsessed with creating more disciplines rather than creating, well, more creativity. And if you like this one – read more from blur Group founder and Chairman Philip Letts here.

Marketing folks aren’t daft.  As much as social media is one of those ‘categories’ above we can’t get away from, marketers confirm the buzz words that go with it are driving them mad.

While we’re on the subject of things that make the blood boil, there’s nothing like modern art to see emotions rise and opinions divide. Damien Hirst was once again courting controversy this week.

Also creating a bit of a stir in the media space was the redesign of the ‘Brit’ award by the grand lady of punk Vivienne Westwood. Read the design take on this.

I’m going to wrap up where we began on the subject that’s going to be the focus of so much of our efforts this year – putting Creativity at the forefront.  As Gary Hamel said a little while back ‘wave goodbye to the knowledge economy and say hello to the creative economy’. In this guest post we talk about the Future of Creativity.

New blog posts are always announced on twitter so make sure you follow us there and enjoy your weekend!
