A healthy obsession with social marketing? Sweet 16 signs celebrating Social Media Day.

We love to see businesses employing social marketing effectively. For us the proof that your social strategies are working is that you don’t just have customers but you have a community. Whether it’s through Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Quora or any of the platforms that underpin your engagement , the ultimate goal is to transform your customers into an engaged community that drives your business forward.

But making this the cornerstone of your marketing can sometimes lead to you becoming a little obsessed with social use in the workplace.  So as a light-hearted celebration of Social Media Day today, here’s  signs that you may just be a little bit obsessed:

1) You can’t  say or write someone’s name without putting an @ in front.

2) You ask your colleagues to check in on Foursquare when they arrive at their desks in the morning

3) When asked to attend a meeting you create a tweet-up

4) You ask someone to connect in Linkedin before going out for a drink with them

5) When someone tells you something good, you put your thumb up and say ‘Like’

6) You know that the only way to get marketing campaigns off the ground is to brief online at the Creative Services Exchange

7) You get an invitation addressed to ‘you + 1′ and you try to find out who it is who has recommended it

8)Someone asks you how to do something and you go straight to Quora to post the question

9)You say ‘ you don’t look anything like your avatar’ when introduced to a new customer

10)You video all your client meetings and post them straight to youtube

11) You start referring to your co-workers as your fans

12) When you lose a customer you don’t talk about revenue downturns, you say you’ve been unfollowed

13) Your business card is now larger than an iPad screen as it contains every social media platform to contact you

14) You hadn’t realised your smartphone actually could be used for calls rather than Facebook access

15) You look for the Retweet button in your email

16) You try to expense a cat and a skateboard so that you get more views on the company youtube channel

On the other hand, doing this might just show that you really are the leader in social marketing in your business. So embrace your obsession and keep driving your communities forward.

But if Digg is still something that you do in the garden, Stumble upon describes nothing more than tripping off the tube and so you would just like help in setting up social media marketing campaigns, then why not  submit a brief?
